Duration of Programme -The M.Ed. Programme
is a full-time and one academic year Programme.

Norms
Eligibility -The candidates must have, after
graduation, passed the B.Ed. /B.T. or L.T. examination
degree from any recognized University as per norms
laid down by the NCTE or any other examination accepted
as equivalent by the MLS university, Udaipur , with
50% marks in Theory & Practical Examinations separately.
* There is no payment seat for the course.

Paper II : Psychological foundations of Education
and Educational Technology (100 Marks)
Paper III : Methodology of Educational Research and
Data analysis (100 Marks)
Paper IV : Essentials of Teacher Education and Comparative
Education (100 Marks)
Part II : Areas of specialization
(Optional Paper)
Each specialization area has two papers. Each paper
is of 100 marks. Every Student is required to choose
one area and study both the papers in it (100 & 100
Marks)
Area A : Guidance and Counseling
Area B : Teacher Education
Area C : Educational Measurement and Evaluation
Area D : Curriculum Development
Area E : Management, Planning and Financing of Education
Part III : Field based Experiences
(Survey)
They are related to supervision and evaluation of
practice-teaching and other aspects of school experiences
of B.Ed. Programmes(50 Marks)
- Open Air Session (Eco-Education Camp)
- Regular Teaching Practice
- Block Teaching Practice
Teaching B.Ed. Classes through
Innovative Lessons.
Part IV : Dissertation
Dissertation is compulsory for candidates pursuing
the M.Ed. Course. They are required to select a problem
of education, especially from the area of specialization
and submit a dissertation in the prescribed time.
This is done through the following steps :
* 1st Seminar - Topic selection
* 2nd Seminar - Synopsis presentation
* 3rd Seminar - Tool construction and Techniques of
Data Collection
* Data Collection
* Analysis of Data
* Report Writing
Scheme of Evaluation
The M.Ed. candidates in the above
mentioned four parts of the course are evaluated as
per the scheme that here follows :-
Part I :
Compulsory Papers :
All the four compulsory papers in this part have two
sections, Section A and Section B with a weight of
60% and 40% marks respectively.
The Sessional work :
In these papers candidates are evaluated by internal
and external examiners. Each sessional work carries
25 marks and the average of the marks out of 25 awarded
by the examiners is mentioned under the heading "Sessional
Marks".
External Theory Examination :
Out of 75 marks, 45 marks are for Section A and 30
marks are for Section B.
Part II :
Specializations :
Both the papers under area of specialization carry
25 marks for sessional and 75 marks for external theory
papers. Work is evaluated as in compulsary papers.
Part III :
Field based study :
This part carries 50 marks which is internally evaluated
by a team of members constituted by the principal
within the institution.
The distribution of 50 marks is as follows :-
Teaching at least 3 lessons to B.Ed. Classes (15 Marks)
Supervision and guidance of two B.Ed. Students (at
least 5 lessons) (20 Marks)
Community service and organization of co-curricular
activities (15 Marks)
Part IV :
Dissertation & Viva-Voce :
It carry's 150 marks as follows :-
*40 Marks are for internal assessment. Assessment
is made by the supervisor of the dissertation.
*10 Marks are for seminar. Assessment will be made
by a team of the internal examiners constituted by
Principal.
*50 Marks are for external assessment. Assessment
is made by an external examiner.
*50 Marks are for an external viva-voce by a team
of the external examiner, dissertation supervisor
concerned and the Principal.
Criteria to Qualify
To qualify for the award of M.Ed.
degree, a student is required to successfully fulfils
all the requirements in each component as per the
stipulated time schedule announced by the University.
A candidate who successfully completes all the requirements
during the academic year scoring at least 50% marks
is declared successful.
Awarding Divisions
Successful candidates are placed
in two divisions only on the basis of their total
marks/scores.
50% to below 60% - II division
60% and above - I division
A candidate who fails to fulfill
any of the requirement in one or more components (
Part I to IV) may make up the deficiency as mentioned
below.
A student who fails to submit the
sessional work under Part I & II and requirement under
part III is not eligible to take the final examination.
But he/she can submit the dissertation. He/She may,
however, fulfill the requirements of sessional work
during the subsequent academic session and take the
examination that year.
A student who successfully fulfills
all course requirements but fails at the final examinations
of courses in Parts I & II, may reappear in the subsequent
examinations and clear
the course within two subsequent years. He/She is
not required to resubmit the Dissertation.
A student who fails only in Group
IV,
is required to submit only the dissertation during
the next academic year and face the external viva-voce
at the end of the year.
Divisions are awarded on the basis
of the total marks obtained in all the groups, either
in one year or in more than one year.
